When it comes to tooth replacement treatments, dental implants are considered as the gold standard.
Not only do dental implants rejuvenate your teeth’s appearance and restore functions like speaking and chewing, but they also protect your jawbone and keep your facial features balanced. There’s nothing better than seeing a patient’s life transformed, thanks to the amazing benefits of dental implants.
What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post that’s placed directly into your jawbone. Over several months, the implant fuses with your jawbone as your body accepts its presence. As titanium is extremely biocompatible, there are very few rejections with dental implants.
Who are dental implants for?
Dental implants are suitable if you have a missing tooth, though not everyone is a suitable candidate for treatment. You will need to have a good level of oral hygiene and enough healthy bone to support the implants. It is possible to build up sufficient healthy bone with a bone graft or a sinus lift.
Why choose dental implants?
Here at Ascot Dental Suite we’re highly experienced in planning and placing implants, and creating the authentic-looking restorations that provide aesthetic and function to your smile.
Dental implants look and behave like real teeth and give you the freedom to eat whatever you like. Because they’re surgically placed, they fall in harmony with your jawbone, which receives the stimulation it needs to stay strong and healthy. It’s thanks to this that your facial features are supported and don’t become sunken and lose volume.
Replacing a missing tooth or teeth with dental implant will reduce your risk of problems like gum disease and tooth decay, and perhaps most importantly, revive your self-esteem and wellbeing.

FAQ
Is it painful?
It’s a common misconception that getting a dental implant is synonymous with extreme pain. You should only experience mild soreness for a few days after surgery and this can be managed using over-the-counter painkillers.
We can offer sedation for patient who are anxious about having treatment or worried about discomfort.
How much does it cost?
Please see our price list to view the cost of our dental implants treatments.
How long is the recovery?
Recovery time varies from person to person depending on their immune response. Habits like smoking which constricts blood vessels will slow the healing period, and failing to be rigorous with your oral hygiene routine will also affect healing time. On average, healing time takes between 6 weeks and 6 months.
When will I see the result?
Once your restoration is placed (a bridge, crown or dentures), you will be able to enjoy a beautifully-restored and healthy smile.
Aftercare?
Successful implant surgery depends on keeping your mouth healthy. Make sure you continue to brush after surgery, but avoiding the surgical site for the first few days. Rinse your mouth following eating to keep the area clean, and avoid smoking until the area has completely healed.
You will be given comprehensive and jargon-free aftercare advice by your dentist, and encouraged to contact us if you have any doubts or questions.
How long will my implant last?
Dental implants can last a lifetime, so long as you afford them the right level of TLC. You will be shown how to clean around your implant using the correct dental aids, and offered advice on how often to visit for hygienist and dentist appointments. Coming in for routine appointments will be a crucial part of prolonging the life of your dental implant.
